Industrial Gas Turbines are frequently used in the oil and gas industry to drive compressors, pumps and generators. This short course describes the operating principles, configurations and the performance characteristics for industrial gas turbines.
Based on this foundation, application examples are given. This includes matching driven equipment, as well as control strategies. The gas turbine package, with the necessary equipment to operate the gas turbine is discussed, with a particular emphasis on items that affect gas turbine maintenance, such as inlet air filtration systems. Fuel capabilities, as well as fuel quality requirements are addressed.
A high equipment availability is paramount for most applications, so in the third part, methodologies for condition monitoring and maintenance events are presented.
